Sattebaaz Fyauri is Nepali translation of The Trader Fox which is a collection of short stories by Shen Shixi, comprised of seven of his major stories. These stories portray animals in a unique light: a tiger who pays a debt of gratitude; a fox who devotes his life to his child at any cost; a horse who harms her master by mistake and must find a way to make amends; a doe who touches a hunter’s heart with her maternal love and moves him to forsake hunting forever…These animals have feelings, know love, and understand life as much as we do and it is through reading these moving stories that we come to appreciate their true inner lives and our mutual connections.

Shen Shixi, the celebrated writer of children’s literature, is famous for his animal novels. He is known as the king of Chinese animal fiction writing. Among his many recognitions include being a three time winner of the National Prize for Excellent Children’s Literature by the Chinese Writers’ Association. He has also won the China Book Award numerous times. His major works include The Glorious Dream of the Mother Wolf and The Seventh Hunting Dog among many others. Scarface the Mother Jackal won the 13th China Book Award. He lives in Shanghai, China.
